Screened by tall trees, less than 100 meters from the sandy beach of Luz and only a 3 minute flat walk to the village itself, once lay a Roman Estate. Today it's the site of the small, family run establishment of Quinta Paraíso da Mia as the remaining Roman Well bears testament.

Situated in the heart of Quinta's lush gardens, today this Roman Well provides fresh, clear water for the swimming pool whereby you can swim, relax and dine by day or feast on the weekly poolside Portuguese barbeque, or freshly grilled sardines, caldeirada (Fish Stew), bacalhau (Cod Fish) or enjoy our famous King Prawns.

Whether you are sampling our local wines and homemade specialities, taking advantage of the sauna and pool, booking a massage or simply having breakfast on your own private terrace, at Quinta Paraíso da Mia, the emphasis is on relaxing within calm surroundings.

The Apartments

Amongst the 7000m2 of serene grounds are 14 tastefully decorated self-catering apartments either studios, or one- or two bed roomed. The three studios and the five one-bedroom apartments are for a maximum of two persons, while the six two-bed roomed apartments are for a maximum of four persons.

All apartments have a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, cooker with oven, kettle, coffee machine etc. and a living room with under floor heating. Most apartments have a fireplace and all have one bathroom with a bath or a shower. Apartments with two bedrooms have a second bathroom, with one being en-suite to the master bedroom and all have a private terrace or balcony with garden furniture and sun beds with cushions overlooking our subtropical green oasis.

Services

We provide bed, kitchen linen and (bathroom) towels. Bed linen will be changed once a week, kitchen linen and (bathroom) towels twice a week. Each apartment has daily maid service (except on Sundays and Bank holidays) to maintain the highest standards of freshness and cleanliness for your comfort and convenience. Unfortunately we do not allow any pets in the apartments.

As an additional service we put a welcome-food parcel (at an extra cost) in your apartment on the day of arrival. This package contains fresh rolls, butter, jam, cheese, sliced meat, oranges, eggs, a bottle of still water, a bottle of wine, milk, yoghurt, Nescafe and tea bags.

During your holiday it is possible to order fresh rolls for your breakfast. We will bring them every day to your apartment. Of course to make your stay even more convenient we also serve a highly recommended continental breakfast any time in the morning at the poolside.

Should you choose to build sand castles with your children, see the sun rising in the morning or unwind at the sea front, the sandy beach is only a few steps away from our entrance. That is why Quinta Paraíso da Mia is the perfect place for you and your family. For the youngest we provide, without any extra costs, a baby cot with bed linen, a high chair etc.

The bar at the pool is available for snacks, light refreshments, breakfasts as well as a wide range of fine quality of local wines and fresh healthy lunches. The reception area with satellite television, is open every day and we are more than happy to help you by making reservations for car rental, dinner, golf, tennis etc. or advice you in any other way.

We pride ourselves on the provision of a peaceful and relaxing holiday for our guests within the seclusion and tranquillity of the garden. We also enjoy arranging activities for those who wish to range a little further a field on the Western Algarve including golf, tennis, scuba-diving, painting and visits to historical landmarks such as Lagos, Sagres and the Cape St. Vincent with its spectacular light house on the most westerly point of mainland Europe.
